Netscape Messenger E-Mail Settings (required)
- Click on Edit from the Netscape menu bar.
- Select Preferences.
- Click on the + in the box next to Mail and Newsgroups.
- Click on Identity and type your information in the boxes on the right:
Your name (your name as you want it to appear on your outgoing e-mail) E-mail address
(your full e-mail address)
- Click on Mail Servers.
- Click on Add and enter the information requested.
- Server Name
(for the name of your incoming mail server ask your network administrator at work or your ISP; often, this is the part of your e-mail address after the @ sign)
- Server Type:
POP3 or IMAP (see box below, and/or contact your system administrator or your ISP)
- User Name
(the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign)
- Click OK.
- In the section labeled Outgoing Mail Server enter the information requested.
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
(for the name of your outgoing mail server, ask your network administrator at work or your ISP; often, this is the part of your e-mail address after the @ sign)
- Outgoing mail server user name
(the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign)
- Click OK near the bottom right of the Preferences window; this will finalize all setting changes in both the Identity and Mail Server preferences.
