Availability
The Availability tool allows faculty to customize the Class Menu for all class members by choosing which items to use and display and which to remove. You can change Availability settings as often as you wish throughout the semester. Please make a Class Announcement to alert students when you make changes to the Class Menu so they need not fear that something is wrong with their computers.
- Click on Faculty Center on the Class Menu
- Remove the check from the box for those items you wish to remove from student view.
- Click Submit.
Availability Supercedes Account Preferences In particular, Include topic note text when responding in conferences and Classroom Awareness are features that students enable themselves in Account Preferences. If a student has enabled these tools and faculty have made them not available, then the student may fear that something is wrong with their computer or personal class access. A Class Announcement noting your change is helpful.
